Being in Debt
I was in debt, too. I went to college, too. And I used to rent an apartment after I graduated from college. It’s not exactly the same, but renting felt like being in debt. I also have a mortgage on a house (by choice), and that puts me in debt, too.
But here’s the thing. I chose to be in debt, because I had a plan for paying off the debt. And I also had back-up plans in case the first plan did not work out. I noticed that a lot of people are getting into debt, simply because they can. They are not patient enough to wait for more savings. They are the “Now” generation. Everything has to be instant. But I say, wait a little. Live with your parents for a while. Save up some money first. I lived with my mother (by choice) for a while. Yes, me, a 1 percenter, has lived in his mother’s basement once. What’s so bad about it? Patience is a virtue.
